A classless MMORPG with playable dragons.
Skills level as you use them, the best gear is made by players, and there is no pay to win.

49 skills, no classes
Skills, not classes
Each of the 49 skills levels as you use it: fight with a sword and Swords rises, mine ore and Mining rises. Every skill caps at 50. Ten specializations, such as Paladin, Necromancer and Artificer, unlock when your skills meet their requirements.
- Levels 1–24
- Any number of skills
- Levels 25–50
- Two skills per group: combat, gathering and crafting
A playable race in six colors
Play as a dragon
Dragons are a playable race, not a mount. You pick one at character creation in any of six colors, and its body grows as its higher combat skill, Dragon Melee or Dragon Magic, rises. Dragons wear armor scales and claws, craft from dragon recipes, and share every gathering, crafting and utility skill with the other races.
By level of the higher combat skill
- 1 Whelp
- 15 Drake
- 30 Dragon
- 45 Elder Dragon
- 15 Hover
- 25 Flight
Six colors: gold, red, blue, green, black and pearl. Flight goes up to 40 metres and is faster than running.
Loot, crafting, factions and the Delve
-
14 sets, 6 uniques
Loot rolls like Diablo 2
Drops are base items with random affixes, plus 14 sets and 6 uniques. Loot is personal, so nobody rolls against a friend, and bad luck protection is built in.
-
275 recipes, 10 trades
Crafting makes the best gear
275 recipes across 10 trades. Technique slots let you choose the stats a crafted item gets. Tier 3 to 5 crafting stations are built and owned by players.
-
10 floors
The Delve
A roguelike dungeon, ten floors deep, solo or with a group of five. Pick one of three debuffs after every floor. Leave whenever you like and keep what you earned. One run a day.
-
Two factions
Order vs Anarchy
Your race sets your faction. Enemy cities kill you on sight, and the only way to switch is a long betrayal questline. Smaller factions track your standing too.
-
Parties of five
Solo or in a group
Parties of five. Each member nearby adds 25% XP for everyone. Everyone gets their own drop from the same kill. There are no queues.
-
No shop today
No pay to win
There is no shop today. When there is one it will sell mount skins and companions that follow you around. Nothing that touches a stat.

FAQ
The pre-alpha, skills, dragons, loot, crafting, the Delve, and what is still planned.
When can I play?
Fantasyquest is in pre-alpha. Accounts are open on this site; the game is not publicly downloadable yet. Expect bugs and missing pieces.
Is it pay to win?
No, and it never will be. There is no shop right now. When one exists it will sell mount skins and non-combat companions only. XP, gear, affixes, techniques, Delve runs, crafting stations, auction slots and anything from PvP are never for sale.
Can I play solo?
Yes. Normal mobs are soloable. Elites want a friend or a good build. Named and epic mobs are group content. The Delve has a solo mode with difficulty tuned for one.
How do skills work without classes?
There are 49 skills across melee, magic, ranged, defense, utility, harvesting and crafting. Using a skill levels it. Some you have from the start; others come from quests, from other skills reaching a level, or from books found in the world. Every skill caps at 50, and only two skills per group (combat, gathering, crafting) can go past 24. Ten specializations such as Paladin, Necromancer and Artificer unlock when you meet their skill requirements.
How is a dragon different from the other races?
A dragon has two combat skills, Dragon Melee and Dragon Magic, instead of weapon and magic schools. It grows through four stages as its higher combat skill rises, hovers at 15 and learns flight at 25. It wears armor scales and claws instead of armor and weapons, and crafts from dragon recipes. Gathering, crafting and utility skills work the same for everyone, except dragons can’t ride mounts.
How does loot work?
Like Diablo 2. A base item drops with random affixes, so a Copper Sword might be Savage, Keen or Stalwart, and rares get a suffix too. There are also 14 sets with set bonuses and 6 uniques with fixed stats. Every player in a group gets their own roll from the same kill. If a rare doesn’t drop, your chance rises 20% for the next kill (10% for uniques) until it does.
Why is crafting the best gear?
Crafted items have technique slots. A technique costs materials and adds a stat you chose, such as Tempered (+2 melee power) or Mending (+10 max health), so you decide what the item is good at instead of hoping for a roll. Stations come in five tiers. Tier 1 and 2 stand in town. Tier 3 to 5 are built by players, so top-end gear passes through a player’s workshop.
What is the Delve?
A roguelike dungeon with ten floors. The door is on Tutorial Island. Go alone or with up to four friends; enemy health and damage scale with the group. After each floor the group is offered three debuffs and takes one. They stack. Each floor pays Delve Marks, more the deeper you go, and you can leave at any time and keep them. One run per day.
Is there PvP?
Planned, and optional. Battlegrounds will level everyone’s stats on the way in, so fights come down to play and loadout rather than gear, and rewards will be cosmetic. Open-world PvP will be something you switch on. Neither exists yet.
Is there player housing?
Planned. A house of your own with room for crafting stations, and plots in the world that other players can visit. Not built yet.
Is any of the art AI-generated?
No. Every model, texture and animation is licensed from artists: Blink, N-hance Studio, Tidal Flask Studios, TriForge Assets, Polyart Studio, BK, AnkleBreaker, polyperfect and Synty Studios. Nothing is AI generated or AI upscaled, including the images on this page.
What is it built with?
A Godot 4 client and an authoritative, deterministic server running at a fixed 50 ms tick. Game content is data, not code.
I play RuneScape, EverQuest or WoW. What will feel familiar?
From RuneScape: skills that level by use, and crafting that matters. From EverQuest: named mobs, faction standing and kill-on-sight cities. From WoW: two opposed factions, groups with tanks, healers and interrupts. Different from all three: no classes, no contested spawns, personal loot, and playable dragons.
